NATO leaders are gathering in Brussels to talk about the increasing presence of Russia in Syria, with some talking about putting NATO troops in Turkey to protect it from possible Russian incursions. From the BBC:
Nato defence ministers have begun assessing the “troubling escalation of Russian military activities” in Syria, the alliance’s secretary-general says.
As the talks began in Brussels, Jens Stoltenberg voiced concern about Russia’s use of cruise missiles as well as air strikes, and said Nato was ready to defend all allies.
Nato member Turkey says Russian jets have violated its airspace recently.
